      The article discusses the need of libraries to welcome first-year U.S. students and train them for the demands of college-level academic work as they pivoted to a wholly or primarily online experience. Topics include the online support for first-year programming utilized at Northern Arizona University (NAU) in Flagstaff, the use of chat and social media by Princeton University librarians to maintain connections with students, and common challenges in adapting the first year online experience.
