Present study aimed at investigating the relationship of emotions with academic attainments of male and female students of secondary level in District Kohat. The sample of the study comprised 10 male and 10 female secondary schools (5 urban & 5 rural) each in District Kohat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Out of the total 400 respondents, 200 were male (100 urban & 100 rural) and 200 were female (100 urban & 100 rural). Cluster sampling and simple random sampling techniques were used for selection of schools and students, respectively. Results of the study revealed that parental education had significant positive effect on the learning attainment of both male and female students, whereas aggression and anxiety had significant negative effect on the learning achievements of male students. Depression was found to exert significant negative influence on learning attainments on female students. Emotions such as social withdrawal, fear, and behavior had no significant influence on learning achievements of the students. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
